Common questions
What is a handover package?+
A MaintFolio portfolio you build for the owner at the end of the job: every system you installed with model, serial, install date, and warranty, plus plans, permits, inspection sign-offs, manuals, paint colors, and the breaker schedule — with your branding on it.
Does the homeowner have to pay anything?+
No. Your client pays nothing to claim it or keep it. You pay for the Solo plan, $39 a month or $390 a year.
Can I upload plans and permits?+
Yes. PDFs and photos of as-builts, permits, inspection sign-offs, manuals, and warranty registrations go into a document vault attached to the property or to the specific asset. Files up to 100 MB each, so a full as-built set uploads in one go.
What happens when they sell the house?+
The owner can hand the whole record to the next buyer, service history included. Your Provided By card transfers with the record, so the next owner sees who built the house — unless a future owner chooses to remove you. The owner can also delete the portfolio entirely, since it's their record.
Does my branding stay on it?+
Yes. Ownership transfers to the homeowner when they claim the package, but your logo, company name, phone, and website stay on the Provided By card for every asset you originated. Clients can unlink a pro at any time; your own attribution records stay intact.
What if the client never claims it?+
The portfolio stays in your account. The gift link itself expires 90 days after you send it.
